Beer isn’t just for the weekends anymore! Cape Fear Craft Beer Week is ten days celebrating the rapid growth of a once sparse industry in our area. According to the Cape Fear Craft Beer Alliance, “The week features events showcasing not only beer brewed in the Cape Fear Region, but invites participants to explore venues where craft beer marries comfortable environments, friendly conversation, and craft cuisine around Wilmington.” Now that’s something we can get behind.
Just a couple of highlights:
Thursday, March 28, 5-9pm, Burgwin-Wright House
Tavern Night at the Old City Jail
“Tickets are $25 at the door and include two beverage tickets and access to the live entertainment. All proceeds from this event benefit the Burgwin-Wright House educational programs, restoration projects, and hurricane Florence rehabilitation. Quench your thirst with beer from Front Street Brewery and wine from Silver Coast Winery while listening to live entertainment from The Beehive Blondes in our beautiful gardens. A&M’s Red Food Truck will also be on site to provide mouthwatering tacos and sliders to replenish you throughout the evening.”
Friday, March 29, 5-10pm, Fermental
Beach Boots: An Evening with the Pink Boots Society
“Join us the folks at Fermental during Cape Fear Craft Beer Week as we welcome our local Pink Boots Society member for an evening dedicated to women in the beer community. Featuring local and regional beers on tap brewed by women alongside membership info and fundraising opportunities. Pink Boots Society is a nationwide nonprofit organization created to assist, inspire and encourage female beer industry professionals to advance their careers through education.
Live Music. Food Truck. And more…
Saturday, March 31, Airlie Gardens
Cape Fear Craft & Cuisine
“We will be featuring 25 local chefs with their best cuisine paired with 25 breweries and their best offering, showcasing the capabilities of food and beer together. Chef and brewer will be on site to talk about their pairing and provide insight into what made them put food and beer together.”
Cape Fear Beer Week ends April 2nd.
