The USS North Carolina Battleship is offering a unique, behind-the-scenes tour of the ship this year.
On the four-hour tour, you will get to see unrestored areas of the battleship, explore the bow (officers’ country, boatswain locker), third deck (brig, torpedo hit and more), engine room #1, forward superstructure (top of the ship), USMC compartment, aft diesel and aft steering, and interior communications.
This tour is only for adults ages 16 and up. You must be able to climb narrow ladders or over knee-high hatches in order to participate on the tour.
There will be four different Hidden Battleship tour dates throughout 2020. The first one is Saturday, January 4. The other dates are March 14, May 16, and November 14.
Tickets are $50 per person and $45 for Friends of the Battleship members or active duty military.
You must call and register your spot before the tour. Payments for tickets are due the Thursday before the event.
