This is not a drill! Flaming Amy’s Burrito Barn announced yesterday that this Thursday, June 20, they will be giving out a limited amount of their famous Thanksgiving favorite, the Churkey Changa.
“What’s better than Christmas in July?? How about THANKSGIVING in JUNE?” they said on their Facebook page.
Flaming Amy’s will have one batch (150) of Churkey Changas available, dine-in only, at their Oleander Drive location on Thursday.
The special occasion is to “welcome a national cable food show to document the deliciousness that is Thanksgiving in a burrito,” the restaurant said.
Customers are limited to one per person and they will be served on a first come first served basis for dine-in guests only.
And if this is your first-time hearing of this culinary masterpiece, here’s why this is a big deal.
Every November for about a three-week period, Flaming Amy’s Burrito Barn adds the “Churkey Changa” to their everyday menu to get people in the Thanksgiving mood.
According to Port City Foodie, they “take fresh roasted turkey, slather it in garlic-y mashed potatoes and cornbread stuffing, then lovingly swaddle it in a flour tortilla and keep fry until golden brown and crispy. But that’s not it! Apply a bit of heavenly jalapeno cream gravy, bring along a side of cranberry salsa to this mouthwatering party-on-a-plat and THAT, my friends, is the “Churkey Changa.”
