Get in the holiday spirit and experience the Cape Fear Festival of Trees at the aquarium

The annual Cape Fear Festival of Trees is back at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.

The annual Cape Fear Festival of Trees is back at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.

The Festival of Trees is a fundraiser put on by Lower Cape Fear Hospice. They have been doing this fundraiser since the early 1980’s. It’s been in many different places over the years but has been held at the aquarium for the past five years now.

This year they have 51 trees on display. Each tree is sponsored by a local business or individual.

All the trees have different themes. Some of the themes this year include Pokémon and Legos, dogs and pets, a patriotic tree and many more.

There are also two “angel trees” where you can write the name of a loved one you have lost and put it on the tree as an ornament.

Admission to see the festival of trees is just your admission to the aquarium. Right now, aquarium admission is at a discounted price due to some construction work.

Supporting the Festival of Trees is donation based.
