St. Patrick's Day Parade

Saturday March 16

At the Riverfront Park between Market and Princess St.

The 20th annual Wilmington Saint Patrick’s Day Parade will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. to noon. The parade will begin at Front Street and Red Cross in downtown Wilmington and feature live Irish music and traditional dance performances. Plus there will be food, beverages and crafts for purchase. Cape Fear First Responders will be the Grand Marshals. It’ll be fun for the whole family, plus, admission is Free.

Music on Market: Irish Edition

If you’re looking for some traditional, authentic Irish music to get you in the mood for Saint Patrick’s Day, head on over to Saint Andrews Presbyterian Church Saturday evening for Music on Market: Irish Edition. The event starts at 7:30 p.m. and features the Bracken Band which includes two Ireland natives. They will perform using the signature Irish instrument, the fiddle, and there will of course be some Irish jigs.

Pot O' Gold Scavenger Hunt

Send your little ones on a hunt to the other side of the rainbow at the Pot O’ Gold Scavenger Hunt at the Fit for Fun Center on Saturday. The event is only for kids five and under. There will be two hunts held. One at 9 a.m. and one at 1 p.m. Admission is $5 and scavenger hunt participants are encouraged to dress up in their best green garb while they search the center for a pot of gold.

Guns and Hoses Charity Ice Hockey Game

If Saint Patrick’s Day isn’t really your thing, head on over the Wilmington Ice House and watch as Wilmington Police Officers and Wilmington Firefighters trade in their fire arms and fire hoses for hockey sticks in the 7th annual Guns and Hoses charity ice hockey game. Doors open at 4 p.m. and the puck drops at 4:30. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids ten and under. All proceeds from this year’s game will benefit ACCESS of Wilmington’s : The Miracle League.
