Many locals know of Joe Loves Lobster Rolls from the friendly food truck that frequents breweries and festivals. The Lobster Trailer rolled its way up to the Cape Fear early last year and has been charming our community ever since.

Now in 2019 we have something new to look forward to. Tony Herndon, owner of Joe Loves, has announced that they’re officially opening their brick and mortar store in Boiling Spring Lakes in Brunswick County.

Set to open in April, the restaurant with serve more than just the food truck menu – with lobster tacos, Reubens, and salads, true S. Philly Cheesesteaks and NY Reubens, fresh seafood (including Ipswich belly clams, gator and calamari) & wild game (wagyu, bison, elk & venison). Of course, they’ll also have their world-famous lobster rolls. The five simple ingredients – mayo, lobster, lemon, butter and bread – are authentic, Maine-style and a Joe Loves institution.

Have no fear if you’re one of the many who love the Joe Loves Lobster Trailer! The food truck isn’t going anywhere! (Or rather, it will still be going everywhere in addition to this new permanent location).

“Bringing Up North Down South” has always been Joe Loves’ motto, and we’re so excited they have chosen to make it happen in our area.

Tony Herndon founded Joe Loves in South Carolina back in 2013 and it was the first food truck to be permitted in Savannah, Bluffton and Hilton Head. The name is a tribute to Herndon’s cousin, Joe Love, who died of pancreatic cancer at just 30 years old. Joe had a love for people and for lobster, and Herndon is spreading that love to the Cape Fear!

You can visit the Joe Loves website, or follow them on Facebook for announcements and events.
