Wilmington bottle shop launches new food truck

Palate Bottle Shop & Reserve in the Brooklyn Arts District in Wilmington recently launched their food truck called The Kitchen at Palate.

A new food truck has rolled into town.

Palate Bottle Shop & Reserve in the Brooklyn Arts District in Wilmington recently launched their food truck called The Kitchen at Palate.

Its run by Chef Carson Jewell who says the food is locally sourced and there’s always something for everyone.

Jewell said the idea came about because the owner of Palate had been wanting to start serving food at the bottle shop, and Jewell had been wanting to open a restaurant in that area.

So the two decided on the food truck. It’s been up and running for about two months now.

All the food comes from local farmers.

“Our menu is seasonal and local,” Jewell said. “We use about seven or eight farmers. We use Seaview Crab Company as our fishermen, and we make really nice food out of it.”

The menu varies from night to night.

“It changes all the time so it’s always a little different,” Jewell said.

Jewell added that all the items that leave the food truck are compostable. Plates, bowls, silverware, everything.

The food truck is at Palate Thursday through Saturday nights from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
