Enjoy this Mint Julep Recipe to Celebrate Derby Weekend.

Whether you are watching the Derby4Dogs Puppy race or kicking back after a long week, a delicious and refreshing Mint Julep may be the drink you have been looking for. A staple of the postponed Kentucky Derby, the recipe is easy to make and uses only a few ingredients.

INGREDIENTS

  • 4-5 fresh mint leaves
  • 1 ½ – 2 oz. simple syrup
  • 1 cup Ice
  • 2 oz. Bourbon
  • Sprig of fresh mint for Garnish.Instructions:
  • Add mint leaves and simple syrup. Muddle together with a muddler or handle of a wooden spoon.
  • Top glass with ice, adding a splash of cold water and bourbon.
  • Mix gently and garnish with the sprig of mint.Check out this non-alcoholic Mint julep using lemonade in lieu of bourbon. The taste is equally refreshing and crisp. It’s perfect for a warm May afternoon. Ingredients:
