iFLY Indoor Skydiving facility proposed to come to Wilmington

WILMINGTON, N.C. (CAPE FEAR WEEKEND) -

IFly a indoor skydiving attraction has been proposed on Eastwood Road. The facility will need the Wilmington City Council to approve rezoning the site for a two acre parcel of land. The proposal is to be brought to the council in June. You can find the map for the proposed project here.

The land in limbo is undeveloped and by the Mayfair entrance on Eastwood Road.

IFly facilities have vertical wind tunnels that the company claims are safe for all ages, and experience levels. They allow for you to experience what it feels like to fly.

One of the co-owners of the iFly franchisee is a major in the U.S. Marine Corps and a military free-fall parachutist.

If the proposal is approved the team of owners hope to break ground in fall.
