Cape Fear Craft Beer Week Kicks Off with Local Events and Tastings

Cape Fear Craft Beer Week runs from March 24th to April 2nd around Wilmington.

WILMINGTON, N.C. (CAPE FEAR WEEKEND) -

The Cape Fear Craft Beer week begins March 24th and runs until April 2nd. Organized by the Cape Fear Craft Beer Alliance, you can find interesting activities with your favorite local breweries. On Friday the 24th, the Ultimate Brewing Championship kicks off the week at the Hannah Block USO Building for an evening of blind tastings. Eighteen local breweries will be competing between 6:30-9:30 PM for the championship title for most unique blends at this special extravaganza.

The Battle of the Breweries begins on March 29th from 9am to 5pm at the Aloft Hotel. The Battle of the Breweries Blood Drive hosted by the American Red Cross of Eastern NC runs throughout the day. The event aims to promote donations and support local breweries. All participants in the blood drive will get a token to redeem a pint of beer at a select brewery of choice. The breweries will compete to see who can recruit the most eligible donors. Pre-registration is available here.

On April 1st, you can’t be fooled by this truly spectacular event when twenty local chefs pair up with select breweries to bring the finest food and beverage pairings at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher. These skilled chefs and exquisite brewers will present pairings for guests during the evening. This event is perfect for foodies and beer lovers alike. The event begins on Saturday at 7 PM.

There is a raffle with donation entry for NourishNC to win a trip to Munich for Oktoberfest in Germany. Entrants can scan a QR code at participating breweries and gain a ticket for every $5 they donate to NourishNC. Additionally, the latest collaboration with CFCBA and NourishNC is their new Future Fuel beer that will be available on draft and in cans at select locations.

The event organizers hope to promote local breweries in the Cape Fear and bring in craft bear tourism to the Wilmington area. Tickets can be purchased here.
