WILMINGTON, N.C. (CAPE FEAR WEEKEND) - Happy national coffee day! If you’re not sure what that is, then it’s a day that promotes and celebrates coffee lovers, cafés and the drink itself.
The first official national coffee day was celebrated in 2005 on September 29th, however other countries have different dates for celebrating coffee day. For instance, international coffee day is celebrated on October 1st. This day was originally declared on October 3rd, 2015, which was agreed on by the International Coffee Organization in Milan, Italy.
Here in the U.S. September 29th is a day that many businesses offer free or discounted coffees and it encourages people to gather at their favorite coffee shop.
To celebrate, coffee brands and chains across the country are rolling out deals to help fuel your coffee habit. Everything from freebies to discounts that you don’t want to miss. Here are a few of the offers you can take part in:
Bitty & Beau’s Coffee
- This coffee shop on New Center Dr is offering customers a free cup of coffee if you purchase a bag of coffee grounds or beans.
