Happy Halloween! Here’s a fun & festive activity you can do today

WILMINGTON, N.C. (CAPE FEAR WEEKEND) - It’s not too late to indulge in fall activities, such as painting pumpkins!

WECT’s Emma Dollenmayer and Cape Fear Weekend’s Lauren Schuster went to Barr’s Pumpkin Patch to pick out the perfect pumpkin to paint.

Barr’s Pumpkin Patch has had a retail spot in Wilmington for over 40 years, and just this year they moved locations. The patch is located at 37 Covil Avenue, Wilmington, NC 28403. Halloween is the last day the patch is open, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The great thing about this activity is that you don’t need to be an artist and if you mess up, paint over it and restart. There are countless ideas that you can transform your pumpkin into such as:

  • Disco ball pumpkin
  • Mikey mouse or other Disney characters
  • Glitter pumpkin
  • Pumpkin with fingerprint designs
  • String art pumpkin
  • Pineapple Pumpkin
  • Simple elegance pumpkin
  • Punny typography pumpkin
  • Fabric-covered pumpkin
  • Eyelash pumpkin
  • Floral vase pumpkin

The ideas can go on forever, but the best thing is that it doesn’t include carving or messy seeds. Don’t forget, Thanksgiving is still a holiday that uses fall decorations and pumpkins!
