A perfect day on the water

Everybody has their idea of “a perfect day” and lucky enough for those of us that live in the Cape Fear region, that means a “perfect day” can often be spent on the water.

Everybody has their idea of “a perfect day” and lucky enough for those of us that live in the Cape Fear region, that means a “perfect day” can often be spent on the water.

Emmet Stovall with Marine Warehouse Center showed us his idea of a perfect day with his wife and two daughters on his Carolina Skiff.

It started off by stopping by what he calls “the big hill” along the intracoastal waterway in Wrightsville Beach. “The big hill” is essentially an extremely large sand dune/hill. He anchored the boat at the bottom of the hill for a little while and let the kids run up and down.

“It wears them out and wears me out too,” Stovall said.

Then it was off to the Wrightsville Beach Marina to refuel and get some ice cream.

And lastly, to finish up the day, he docked at the public dock in Wrightsville Beach where the family was able to get off the boat and walk right up to one of their favorite restaurants, Tower 7.

After dinner, it was just a short cruise across the intracoastal back to their house.

And that was Emmet’s perfect day on the water.
