Friday, July 2

Fireworks by the Sea & Boardwalk Blast

Carolina Beach Boardwalk | 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. | Details

  • On Friday night, Pleasure Island Summers ‘officially’ begin with the weekly fireworks display. Watch the weekly show on the beach strand located in front of the historic Carolina Beach Boardwalk, where live music plays at the Gazebo stage. The music starts at 6:30 p.m. followed by the fireworks at 9:00 PM.

North Carolina 4th of July Festival

Southport | Details

  • The North Carolina 4th of July Festival takes place in and around Southport/Oak Island and features fireworks (Sunday, 9pm, Oak Island Pier), games, live music, shag contest, car show, entertainment for kids, and more. See a full list of events here.

Holly Ridge Liberty Festival

Holly Ridge Municipal Park | 4 – 10 p.m. | Details

  • The Town of Holly Ridge hosts their annual Liberty Festival, located at the Holly Ridge Municipal Park from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. There will be live music from The Carolina Band and The Imitations, in addition to vendors, food rides and of course, fireworks. Fireworks begin at 9 p.m.

 

Saturday, July 3

Town of Surf City July 3rd Independence Day Celebration

Soundside Park | 6 p.m. | Details

  • Surf City is holding it’s Independence Day celebration on Saturday at Soundside Park. The fun gets underway at 6 p.m., with fireworks going off at 9 p.m.

North Carolina 4th of July Festival

Southport | Details

  • The North Carolina 4th of July Festival takes place in and around Southport/Oak Island and features fireworks (Sunday, 9pm, Oak Island Pier), games, live music, shag contest, car show, entertainment for kids, and more. See a full list of events here.

Downtown Wilmington 4th of July Fireworks

Downtown Wilmington | 9:05 p.m. | Details

  • The fireworks will begin at 9:05 p.m. and will be shot from a barge located at the convergence of the Cape Fear and Northeast Cape Fear rivers, just north of the Battleship North Carolina.  Arrive early and consider your exit strategy prior to parking.

Riverfront Park Grand Opening

10 Cowan Street | 1 – 8 p.m. | Details

  • Plans for this park have been in the works since 2013, so a big celebration is expected on July 4. Beginning at 1 p.m., the family friendly event will include local bands, kids activities, food, a beer garden and more. The park will close at 8 p.m. to allow people time to get repositioned for the city’s fireworks display which will take place at 9:05 p.m. Note that fireworks will not be visible from the park.

Ocean Isle Beach July 4th Parade

Town Center Park | 4 – 6 p.m. | Details

  • Decorate your golf cart, bicycle, car/float! Pepole are also welcome to wear red, white, and blue and walk the parade. The free event is happening from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Town Center Park. Participants line up at 3 p.m. in the parking areas of the Town Center Park (11. E Second Street) and Museum of Coastal Carolina. Judging will take place at 3:30 p.m. The parade route begins at entrance of the Museum, travel east on 2nd Street and ends at Lee Street.
