Azalea Festival Juried Spring Art Show and Sale

Hannah Block Historic USO/Community Arts Center | 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. | Details

  • The 39th Annual Juried Spring Art Show and Sale features an exhibition of new works featuring artists from Wilmington and surrounding areas. The exhibited art from over 150 artists will consist of works created using multiple mediums including oils, watercolors, pastels, acrylics, photography, and a section of 3-D art.

Secret Garden Party

Online | 2 p.m. | Details

  • Get dressed in your finest garden party gear and enjoy the beauty that surrounds your home or business by having a garden party of your own. Sign up at the link on the Azalea Festival website, and they’ll send you a link to stream a special message and toast from Queen Azalea herself, at her own garden party! The deadline to submit your RSVP for this link to join is April 8th at midnight.

Curbside Cinema: Raiders of the Lost Ark

UNCW Kenan Auditorium | 8 p.m. | Details

  • The UNCW Office of the Arts are continuing their Curbside Cinema series with Raiders of the Lost Ark this Friday. Movie starts at 8 p.m. and you must pay your admission in advanced ($28 per carload, plus tax and online fee).

Commedia dell’Arte and The Magic Toyshop

  • The Magic Toyshop tells the story of a young orphan girl seeking shelter in a toyshop, where she finds a magic rose that brings toy dolls to life. Many adventures follow as she tries to keep her beloved new friend, the Harlequin Doll, out of trouble. Please note: Ticket sales for this performance close on April 9 at 5pm.

Promenade Performances

  • Historic Wilmington Foundation presents Promenade Performances, guided tours that give voice to the past from porches, patios, and porticos. This curated walking tour features acts by Tony Rivenbark, Brian Whitted, Shaunté Jordan, and more including actors, writers, and musicians celebrating the Port City’s rich history.

Azalea Festival Coin Show

Elks Lodge5102 Oleander Dr | 10 a.m. | Details

  • The Azalea Festival Coin Show takes place at the Elks Lodge in Wilmington, NC, and features more than 30 dealers, a chance to pan for your own gold, and a Kid’s Korner with free games and coin related prizes.

Fins Across the Border Surfing Competition

Carolina Beach Fishing Pier | Details

  • The Eastern Surfing Association presents the Fins Across the Border Surfing Competition at the Carolina Beach Fishing Pier. The inaugural event, free for spectators, features surfers from North Carolina competing against surfers from South Carolina.

Riverfront Farmers’ Market

Waterline Brewing | 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. | Details

  • The market features local farmers, produce, arts and crafts, music, and more. Items change weekly depending on the season and include fresh fruits and berries, vegetables and herbs, eggs and cheeses, plants and flowers, meat and seafood, doggie treats, tea, honey, fresh baked goods, jams and jellies, wine, art, and more. Rain or shine.
