Experience the beautiful, larger-than-life lanterns of the Chinese Lantern Festival this holiday season. But you’ll have to travel a little bit to do so.

The festival only visits a handful of spots around the country each year according to visitraleigh.com

You can see hundreds of larger-than-life lanterns at the festival starting November 22nd and lasting through January 12th.

Visit Raleigh said more than 100,000 visitors came from across the state to see the glowing pieces in 2017-2018.

The Festival says this year they will have all new lanterns, each one comprised of hundreds of parts and thousands of LED lights.

“Each larger-than-life lantern will wow visitors with its amazing craftsmanship, cultural significance and artistic beauty,” the festivals Facebook page says.

They are open Tuesdays – Sundays from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m.
