On January 23rd, Lumina Station will host it’s very first Luminescence Fashion Show to help raise funds in support of breast cancer research.

The fashion show will feature the latest fashions from Lumina Station shops and boutiques.

The models in the fashion show will consist of local breast cancer survivors and “thivers” – those who are currently living with breast cancer.

“Komen North Carolina Triangle to the Coast is dedicated to providing funding for breast health services, education and outreach in our region, and we are honored to partner with such an amazing organization for the upcoming Luminescence fashion show and luncheon,” said Sue Sielecki, general manager for Lumina Station. “This event will raise much needed funds for research to prevent and cure breast cancer as well as to meet the critical needs in our community.”

Brasserie Du Soleil will be providing the passed horse de erves for the luncheon.

“This is very near and dear to our hearts. The work that they do is amazing and we’re thrilled with the opportunity to be involved with the Susan G. Komen effort,” Kevin Jennings, co-owner of Brasserie Du Soleil said.

Blush Haus of Beaute will be doing all the hair and makeup for the models for the fashion show.

Blush owner, Elisha Smith, said her mother passed away from breast cancer so to be a part of this event means a lot to her.

“For the fashion show, we’re just going to make everyone their best self,” Smith said. “We’re going to look at what they’re wanting and truly try to accent their true beauty and just show them that even going through something traumatic that they can still have at least their self. Make them feel gorgeous so they can walk down that runway and just be proud of what they’ve been through.”

The event will be held on January 23rd at Wrightsville Manor at 11:30 a.m.
